The Town's sewer system consists of an estimated 10,000 linear feet of sewer lines connecting individual sewer taps to a main sewer line which travels under Highway 85 to the municipal waste water treatment facility located approximately 1.5 miles southeast of Pierce. On a yearly basis main sewer lines are "jetted" (flushed) and monitored/viewed by use of video cameras. On a monthly basis specific points are spot checked for any potential problems. The town is served by a state of the art waste water treatment plant completed in June 2011. The facility is overseen and maintained by town personnel who hold specialized operator certifications required by the State in order to perform testing and maintenance procedures, assuring the facility meets all State and Federal laws and requirements.
